Thanks for your feedback ihipop, I will be working on better support for
alternative languages in the new version. If you want to contribute
translations, you can have a look at this:
http://code.google.com/p/avalanche-rt/source/browse/trunk/lang/en-gb.json which
is the standard translation pack Avalanche uses. Simply replace all the english
stuff in quotes with Chinese, and attach the file here and I will add it in and
credit you.
Thanks

Hi, ihipop, I'm pretty sure Avalanche-rt can correctly display Chinese, see
attached screenshot.
You need `encoding_list = utf-8` in ~/.rtorrent.rc file.
For more info see http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/wiki/RTorrentXMLRPCGuide and
http://blog.codingnow.com/2008/10/rtorrent.html

i really had do it !!!
if without `encoding_list = utf-8` in ~/.rtorrent.rc file,in other webGUI
such as rur ,the Chinese character can't show correctly at all!
the version of avalanche-rt I‘m Useing is r49 svn
and you?

rur means rutorrent

I'm using my own fork of Avalache-rt, based on svn r47(see
http://code.google.com/p/avalanche-rt/issues/detail?id=10). And I don't think
r48 and r49 commits would break Chinese character display.
Maybe you're facing the same problem as 云风 described in his blog
post(http://blog.codingnow.com/2008/10/rtorrent.html). RTtorrent will work only
if the torrent file specify a correct utf-8 file
name(http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/ticket/1479#comment:1).
All your torrents that contain Chinese character do not work? Or only some of
them?
It's weird that for the same torrent Avalanche-rt can't display correctly but
ruTorrent can.
Will you please upload the torrent file here(if it's publicly available), in
case someone can have a deep look at it.

All my torrents that contain Chinese character do not work。it is exactly
right in Avalache-rt,but in other webGUIs such as rutorrent, with
`encoding_list = utf-8` in ~/.rtorrent.rc file,they work well with my chinese
named torrents。
i don‘t think that what i'm facing is different with the problem as 云风
described in his blog post.
i know that it is really weird 。
i cant upload the torrents in public polace ,because i download them From the
Private BT (PT) site in CERNET in IPV6 network, which contain my Private
PassKey,which is very important to me。
but if in private case,i can pass the torrents to you ONLY!
BTW:when a file is bigger than 2GB,Avalache-rt could not display the correct
size, but, rutorrent can。 Does it weird? The files contain in the
torrents from PT of IPV6 is really huge,so that it is very common for them to
reach the size ..
