I am running ubuntu 16.04 and installed Nemo 3.6.5 as my file manager. Previous papirus works perfectly fine with arc-darker theme but the newest version make Issue #618 happens again. I have attached a picture below. You can see that the icons are too dark to be seen. Thanks!

The problem is always be here. The previous monochrome color was a bit brighter, that why you thought that is okay, but it's not. We can't support Acr-Darker or a similar theme in apps without symbolic icons support.

There is only one solution: using a light theme with Papirus, or a dark theme with Papirus-Dark.

In the case with Nemo is an upstream bug. Nemo uses symbolic icons in the toolbar but doesn't use it in the sidebar.

The reason is that inkscape will have some issue if I go with white icon. You can see this picture. image

I will follow your suggestion and thanks anyway. Ps, is there any way to specify inkscape's icon theme?

In your case, the better way is to use Papirus with a light GTK theme (Materia, Numix, Pop_theme!, Adwaita, etc..).

I see. Thanks for the information.
