Custom default GNOME shell theme with Papirus icons #1925

Hi, I want to create a custom GNOME shell theme with all of its default icons changed to Papirus counterpart and it's default font changed to system default sans-serif font instead of GNOME's default Cantarell font. Is it OK that I create a new repo for this under PapirusDevelopmentTeam umberella or not? It's not a big deal. It's just to better match GNOME's default theme with Papirus. thanks @varlesh @SmartFinn

@morealaz Hi. We likely Materia & Adapta Themes and want uniform for all DE's... But developers Adapta & Materia don't want this.. (For example, see this https://github.com/nana-4/materia-theme/issues/350 https://github.com/nana-4/materia-theme/issues/282 ) What are you theme based? I'm not use GNOME @SmartFinn maybe help you.

earlier i'm try development Papirus KDE and GTK Pack... But my skills on GTK very bad and i threw this idea. image

I'm not how looking default GNOME theme with Papirus... I think it's good idea for development, but not good for our design. Our style more likely Material and Flat styles.

Hi @varlesh As I said, it's not a big deal. I just change Adwaita theme default icons and elements which are used in gnome-shell-theme.gresource file and changed them with Papirus one's. I also change default font for theme in css files to sans-serif instead of Cantarell. It's a GNOME things, because it used by GNOME shell.

Also we detach support for all GTK Themes (after 20181120 release), because we not have time constantly our icons for new changes on GTK. Arc - nearly discontinued (and not good theme for as, because it's not Material style) Adapta - discontinued and developer now support only Plata (we don't like this theme... Very toxic colors for eyes) Materia - on active development... but developer use him HIG and don't want change anything

@morealaz If It's only mod i don't know needed this or not... Sorry, i'm not use GNOME and don't know how it's looking
