The monitor's resolution is 1366 x 768 The Plasma panel is 20px in width (the smallest possible size)

This is a very difficult question for me, but I will try to figure it out. Plasma desktop has a special feature - these are widgets, for which we love it so much (I say this as a very old KDE user with a very long experience). Widgets are created by different people, but that's not the point... For the tray, there is an unspoken standard for the icon size is 22px, i.e. when the panel is increased in height, the size of the tray icons does not increase, but remains unchanged. When reducing the height of the panel below 22px, the icons should use 16px (according to the logic of other widgets), or simply decrease if the size of 16px is not available and the icons will be blurred and not clear. But the Taskbar widget uses a different principle of operation and increases the size of the icon according to the available sizes in the icon theme 16/22/32/48/64 I think this problem cannot be solved. Icon sizes are too small - there is a limit to pixels and quality... Alternatively, you can use a pop-up panel to save screen space. Also think about the Latte or Plank dock, which can also be hidden and saves space.

I suggest you try Latte. This is a cool project that contains a lot of options and variants that will help solve your problem. I think you understand that the Taskbar widget has very limited functionality and the Latte project was born to provide an alternative option.

I think there's some confusion. I am talking about the System Tray icons.

Sorry, i'm not understand you!

Yakuake, Klipper, Volume, Bluetoth, Network - it's Plasma icons. Telegram, Mega - it's Papirus icons.

I meant to say that I am talking about the system tray icons. In the screenshot in the original comment, I show you that certain icons (like the telegram icon and the mic-in-use icon) are too big while others are not. Can that be fixed?

varlesh commented 2 years ago

Ough you mean libappindicator )))

varlesh commented 2 years ago

appindicator it's Unity (Ubuntu) library i can't fix this

Alright, thank you for your time

varlesh commented 2 years ago

about microphone... it's strange if use native KDE app

varlesh commented 2 years ago

Although it is possible that the microphone icon is taken from the icon theme (when the panel is reduced below 22px). Actually, this will not solve the problem, but even complicate it. This icon can be used in other work DE's

varlesh commented 2 years ago

@sbeve72 Are you not satisfied with the big Telegram icon or other icons?

103sbavert commented 2 years ago

@varlesh The problem is the big telegram icon and the other icons that are in the panel but not in the Arc plasma theme's icon set.
