Try open gnome settings from terminal, maybe on logs found info.

@akashdiphazra You can use another clean distro without Ubuntu patches. I think Debian, Archlinux, OpenSuse or Fedora not have this suprise

KDE Devs not hardcoded icon theme for Color Selection option and this not have limits. I can set any color with Papirus Colors (or other supported theme): and etc
