Colours for different materials used in device icons were defined a long time ago in Papirus, as well as the dark colour that is compatible with most backgrounds (#596). I doubt any of these need to be changed again, because it seems that not much people have the same problem. As for the icons with white on white, I guess something could be made about these, but they just look like toggles! They already use the maximum possible contrast. It wouldn't be possible to do different icons for dark and light themes, as these are app icons.
Greetings.
Rocky Linux 9 Xfce Manual install
Couple icons have improper colouring: gnome-tweak-tool.svg and preferences-desktop.svg have white switches on white background. couple devices icons (computer, pda, tablet, etc) have their screen almost exactly the same colour as baground on adwaita-dark theme
See screenshot for both issues - https://imgur.com/a/VWANtVa Upper screenshot is default looks, bottom screenshot is what i made for myself (changed colours for couple elements)
this is icons i edited, in case you want to check those. https://disk.yandex.ru/d/CoaqUxAWtHuq_w if you want to use those, be my guest, its your icons anyway, but it probably better if some guy who knows how to draw will look into this issue and change original icons himself
