Fixing pedantic errors with clang 15 #13

adding some fixes for pedantic settings and clang 15 on ubuntu 22

It seems like my update to https://github.com/ParaToolsInc/salt-dev went smoothly. I've tagged a v1.1.0 and I'm now just waiting on the docker image to finish building and getting pushed to docker hub. Once that's done I'll push a commit that tests these changes with the latest docker image (using clang/llvm 15) and merge when that passes the tests.
