Hello, I've started using parabol for my team retrospectives since the pandemic started and it's working out really well for me. It's been perfect for our new work from home set up. However, prior to the shelter in place world our team used a style of retrospective called Triple Nickels...I know that we can set up our own template, but is there or will there be away to set up teams to retrospect on their own and then rejoin the bigger group. Similar to the method used in the Triple Nickel retro? “Triple Nickels” – split everyone into groups of 5. Each person in the group gets a piece of paper, and has 5 minutes to write down 5 things – complaints, kudos, improvements, etc. They then pass it to the person on their right, who has 5 minutes to build off of whatever is in front of them. If there is any plan to do this or a way that I can set up a template like this that would be super helpful.

Hi there - I forget how to set up breakout rooms :|
we're having a retro with about 20 people but want to set up 6 separate breakout rooms for discussions after the first 45 minutes
Oooo! I think we're heading in a new direction now. @avivapinchas do you still have those "spotlight" wireframes from SPA? I can make an issue & we'll point to that as the current thinking
Sure thing! Here's where we landed:

A user notes:
I was all set to use Parabol for a recent retro but my scrum master tells me Parabol doesn’t allow a person to break the meeting up into multiple teams for separate walk-thrus. So we used some other tool which had that capability. I think it was REETRO or something like that.
I still think Parabol’s reporting capability is better and we had some problems with screen refreshes with REETRO also. So if you keep working on that capability and let us know, I would appreciate that!
I asked:
Is the capability that you can collect feedback from multiple teams or something? Is there a screenshot you or your Scrum master could share with me from Reetro? We'd be more than happy to build whatever capability you desire into Parabol :)
They clarified:
Thanks, Jordan- what I mean by this capability is that we want to split really big groups up into smaller groups so humans can better interact. I believe once a meeting or retro gets over thirty people the conversation gets dominated by the boldest and we lose the feedback from the quiet voices.
I want to be able to show just the comments from the people on the group and then we merge them all together at the end.
This issue is more of a "thought out loud" than a specific direction.
Today Organization have many teams.
Tomorrow we will do away with the concept of Organizations altogether, and instead a Team will have many Teams. Any Team can have billing information. Subordinate teams will inherit things from the teams above them, including:
If you create a team beneath a team, user membership will change. Consider team ‘Parent’ and team ‘Child’:
For objects created in Parabol, perhaps a few permissions classes could be defined for sharing, et al:
When starting a meeting, meeting attendees could include any of the classes. Breakout functionality could be added, a la:
Phases could be extended to operate in "breakout" mode (e.g. Group).
