Trying to hit people on help intent with the combat baguette, over hitting them with the thing, you force feed it to them.

What did you expect to happen?

to attack them no matter the intent

Why is this bad/What are the consequences?

its a weapon, not food. Yeah i get the whole gimmick is that errhm ackually it is food? thats the joke? but the fact ever other melee item attacks on help intent, but this one? screws you over

The gimmick is that it's a disposable weapon. You can attack with it normally while on harm intent.

This seems to be intended behavior, as dgamer notes. Force-feeding has a do-after anyway, so it's not likely to really mess you up unless you aren't paying attention.
