Issues with converting savefile #1629

Weird behavior with utility issue_with_converter

Game: Victoria 2 with HPM 4.6.0 mod Very weird savefile where almost all of the world was pacifistic after smallest great war that I've personally witnessed. Majors just sat and waited for things to happen. All the crises were resolved peacefully. I was playing as Finland.

I just wanted to make sure that / slash in the path of the endfile is something expected. I don't know if the file is written as expected but my windows was lagging trying to read contents of the folder where converted mod should have been. Might be related to the cyrrylic symbols in the path.

Figured it out on my own. As far as I understood, converter had some issues with Cyrillic symbols in path. The full timeline of my educated guess:

  1. I had old windows installation with russian locale back in the day (I'm from Ukraine btw don't remeber how it ended up being russian)
  2. OneDrive got synced up with this old russian installation
  3. I reinstall windows and oneDrive got synced, moving my old folders in new OS
  4. OneDrive changed default paths in registry for all the user folders like "Documents" or "video" to folders synced from OneDrive
  5. These folders are written in Cyrillic because of old OS installation
  6. Your tool got some issues because of that.
  7. After fixing the filepath to user documents folder in registry the converter job seems to be allright.

I guess now you can just check out this sick savefile. There are some countries which probably were not converted properly judging by log.
