Error and Garbled Text in Error Message #608

I encountered an error and garbled text in the error message when using the Vic3 to HoI4 converter. The process did not complete successfully.

The converter stopped working and displayed an error message that was not readable due to garbled text. Here is log.txt:

I am using Windows with Simplified Chinese as the system language, and the game language are set to English.

Unfortunately the tool we use to decode saves from binary doesn't properly handle paths with non-ascii characters in the path. Try moving the save to a path without any chinese.

Also note that hoi4 has problems with those paths as well. It's likely you'll see the conversion mod in the launcher but the game itself will ignore it. If that happens, you can upload it to the Steam workshop, subscribe, then remove the original copy.
