I can't replicate this, does someone have replication steps for it?

In creative mode, at least:

Place an empty beehive
Spawn 1-3 bees and let them go inside at night
Break the beehive and you'll see that it correctly displays the number of bees inside
Place the beehive again and then break it again, and you'll see that the number of bees is now 0
