clean up deps
migrate documentation/scripts to yarn
add eslint and prettier (including a precommit hook for to lint and prettify code)
add deployment instructions in readme

We are not enabled for CircleCI (thanks @jellegerbrandy), so later today I'll work on getting this branch built there and verifying everything is working (but @eliawk feel free to do that before me)
