Actually in IFs, the forecast consolidates all types for Imports and Exports. Production does use 6 basic types: Oil, Gas, Coal, Hydro, Nuclear and Other Renewables.
I think bringing in everything for imports and exports would be easy in terms of all types still being consolidated into one big total. For Production we would have analyze if all types fit in the existing 6 categories, It looks from the above that they can also be organized by the existing 6, so this is mostly a data project, but once is done, it will require code to start reading all of those types.
Other than bio-diesel, all other unchecked rows in the Ex/Imp column on the top table is used and traded (in low volume) as electricity. As far as I know, bio-diesel is not traded much. Oher biofuls like ethanol might be traded by countries like US or Brazil. I don't see that in the list though (may be traded in the manuf/ag category). In any case, I am thinking if having good data on electricity trade should cover trade in other renewables.

I'm not sure if they will fit, e.g., peat and peat products?
In IFs, we have energy import, export, and production from various sources. However, energy types are different between Im/Ex and Production, you can see the table below. The checked ones are what we have in IFs.
In addition, some energy types are not brought into IFs yet, you can see the Energy structure from IEA below. The checked ones are what we have in IFs.
