Although Firefox can control whether or not a video can play automatically when the page is opened, it is a limited control (if the user clicks the page within the first 3s then any video plays automatically) which forces the user to change about:config settings in order to get proper autoplay control, and it applies globally instead of just YouTube.
Having a dedicated autoplay feature just for YouTube is still a better functionality than what the browser currently offers.
