Would be nice to have a better simulation suite - may be worth doing during generalisation

Figure needs verification 3-9 - it makes sense for it to perform worse since there is less redundancy, but I don't expect it to perform that bad. Also seems like the gap between BED and CCD is more, which suggests an irregular rate may in general be the better performing one
