to clarify, I have a Zotac GTX 3060TI, a ryzen 7 3700x, and have not manually adjusted them at all. That included power adjustments or overclocking

yeah I'm wondering if my pc, I noticed that the GPU usage was spiking specifically when I had PoE open, and then focused on PoB. If I have the skill tree open in PoE, and then focus of PoB, the usage was about what I expected it to be, around 20%. gonna try with other games open.
There was also this https://github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding/issues/5266 less related as it not to surprising that PoB is CPU intensive it needs to do a lot of calculations but It is definitely using more GPU then it has any right to for a simple GUI.
yeah so I'm thinking that on an unrelated note, my task manager is incorrectly reporting my gpu usage, however, when focused on PoB with any decent resource using game actively running, it does still significantly drop the performance of my entire computer. Like a borderline slideshow youtube video at 480p. I tried with Cyberpunk at high settings on 1080p, which should be even more of a resource hog than PoE.
i used to have this issue aswell (on a 1070), it was some setting globally by nvidia that made it render ridiculous frames when focused. similar to certain new games "frying" gpus by having uncapped frames in menus etc. try looking into limiting fps on PoB / global frames. (why would you ever need more than 200/s for example)
I probably should have said that changing the global Nvidia framerate to cap at 30 for PoB was the one thing I did to try and fix the issue. admittedly, I don't know how to visually confirm that the framerate did actually limit to 30, but assuming the control panel isn't lying, that did not solve my resource issue.

I managed to fix this issue by using a different SimpleGraphic.dll from : https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/80vp4r/pob_fix_high_cpu_usage/
When using this dll the CPU load is near 0% even when the window is focused. Only moving the skill tree causes a higher load what is ok for me.

How is Path of Building expected to behave?
when focused on the application window of PoB I would expect to see less than 20% GPU i would guess? not sure what the standard usage is.
How does Path of Building behave?
when focused on the application window of PoB i have upwards of 70% gpu usage, while not focused it sits less than 1%. This occurs with every build I've loaded up, as well as no builds at all.
