Serving large data files from that page (with Spring MVC, as resources) was not a good idea. Especially now that we have good-looking downloads/archives site on the fileserver (where we can now log file download events).
Having a simple page with a link out and brief info would help a lot: no need to have several copies of same files; a dozen Gigabytes less storage use by the cpath2 home directory on the server; less busy server; flexibility etc. Basically, once a new PC2 instance and db is created and released, those files are to be moved from CPATH2_HOME/downloads/ to the official archives site, keeping only the main BioPAX model archive ("All") and blacklist.txt on the PC2 server.
