Ability for the all panes to place tabs on top or bottom, like the editor pane. #257

This is an enhancement.
It would be nice to be able to select whether to have tabs on top or bottom
(and may be even left and right) for all the panes, as it is already the
case for the editor pane.
Also, may be the pane title could be removed altogether (again, like for
the editor pane), since currently it merely doubles what is written on the
tab. This will provide some screen "real estate" gain.
To make it more readable, if the current tab text is long, inactive tabs
may collapse to icon/condensed form, like they already do when the pane is
minimised.
