CTRL and Left/Right arrow key selection enhancement #354

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Press & hold the CTRL key plus the Left or right arrow key to select
text.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The 'Text Selection' feature doesn't work exactly like it does in
Microsoft Word or NotePad++. The editor includes special characters in its
selection like the backward slash "\", "()", " ", characters. This is
annoying as it means I have to over shot what I want to select then
backtrack to get the exact item.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

1.9.9.7

Please provide any additional information below.

+1

I would also like to have the same behaviour between pyscripter and notepad++.
Besides the "\" "()" and " " it also behaves different for "=", ".", "'", """.
Very anoying when you use CTRL+LEFT but have to 'correct' the selection.

Version:
2.0.0.0
