Hi,
First I can't seem to set individual current limits for the three phases. If I run the Then-card "Set available current to...", the lowest value provided to any of the phases is used for all three phases.
This part, how do you verify that you only get the lowest of the three? Have you checked with the Zaptec app? It should set the phases individually but I was a bit lazy with the available installation current capability, it selects the lowest of the three.
I'm unsure how the Kia charges, but some cars places equivalent balance on all phases. I.e. if one goes down, the draw goes down on all phases. That makes the individual phase limits mostly useful for flipping single phase chargers between phases.
I'd suggest checking with the Zaptec App directly to see the actual set limits. If they're different, I'll add individual capabilities for each phase if you need it!
Another issue is that if I set the current limit to 5 amps or lower, the charging stops altogether. This might not have anything to do with the Homey app, rather something with the Zaptec box itself, or even my car (Kia eNiro). Just wondering if you have any idea?
Some cars stop charging at specific levels, so it might just be that. But it's also common for the cars to "dislike" renegotiating the charge current often. The Zaptec API specifically mentions this,
It is recommended that this setting is not updated more often than once every 15 minutes, as continuous changes of charge current and phase may lead to the vehicle aborting the charge session.
Do get back to me if you want me to add individual phases for the available current. For me it was more of a "nice to see" capability rather than useful for flows :)
Thanks for a good app. Just got my Zaptec Go installed and started tinkering. Wanted to create a load balancing function by linking my Pulse, that measures current levels on all three phases, to the charger's available current settings. However I am facing some issues:
First I can't seem to set individual current limits for the three phases. If I run the Then-card "Set available current to...", the lowest value provided to any of the phases is used for all three phases. This seems to almost be "by design" as there is only one current limit value on the device, not three. How is this intended to work? I know there is some load balancing function to be had, either through Tibber or something called Zaptec Sense, so I guess it should be possible to control the phases individually. I'd rather do it myself though.
Another issue is that if I set the current limit to 5 amps or lower, the charging stops altogether. This might not have anything to do with the Homey app, rather something with the Zaptec box itself, or even my car (Kia eNiro). Just wondering if you have any idea?
Thanks!
