Remove entry-level option declaration for url, doi, eprint #8

Closed moewew closed 4 years ago

moewew commented 4 years ago

biblatex 3.13 provides these by default (https://github.com/plk/biblatex/pull/877). Unfortunately, the declarations cause an error now since biblatex checks for existing options and doesn't silently overwrite them.

u-fischer commented 4 years ago

Any news on this? Currently oscola is not really usable because of the errors.

Sorry to bother you about this again. The issue showed up again on TeX.SX a few days ago https://tex.stackexchange.com/q/532215/35864.

@PaulStanley If you are busy at the moment, I'd be happy to help you release an emergency update to CTAN with this fix and #10, so it can be included in TeX live 2020. (If you like you can give me permission to upload the fix to CTAN, so you don't have to do anything else.)

PaulStanley commented 4 years ago

Would you mind? I thought I had done it 6 months ago, but I realise that I did it on my laptop and then didn't get round to regenerating the documentation and sending it to CTAN. I'm very sorry. If it's too much trouble, I can probably get to it on Tuesday.

Paul

You can add me to this repository as collaborator (https://help.github.com/en/github/setting-up-and-managing-your-github-user-account/inviting-collaborators-to-a-personal-repository). Then I could merge the pull requests, update the documentation and (hopefully) build the documentation and package the bundle.

Because CTAN won't accept upload from random people you could either tell them to let me upload the updated package or I could send you the .zip and you then upload it to CTAN.

PaulStanley commented 4 years ago

I have merged both this and your other PR. I'm on a laptop which doesn't have a working TeX installation on it at the moment, so if you were able to make the Zip for CTAN that would be great: if you email it to me I will upload it. If that's a problem, I can do it tomorrow when I have access to a working system, Covid restrictions permitting. (I think you are a contributor, thanks to the PR merge, but if I'm wrong about that I'm afraid you will have to tell me how to fix it!)

moewew commented 4 years ago

I'm a contributor thanks to the merge (really: thanks!). But I don't have rights to push directly to the repository (without you having to merge a pull request) as a collaborator would (https://help.github.com/en/github/setting-up-and-managing-your-github-user-account/inviting-collaborators-to-a-personal-repository).

But the collaborator business is not that pressing. I can just submit the documentation change as pull request and when you are happy with them, you can merge them and then I can build the .zip for CTAN. (At the moment I'm fighting with the indices, but hopefully I should have that sorted soon).

PaulStanley commented 4 years ago

The indices are nightmarish. I think there are comments at the end of the documentation which remind me how to do them!

I think I managed to build the documentation as intended and pushed https://github.com/PaulStanley/oscola-biblatex/commit/a65ad4468399b3ace4de73b911c28406f165623c. You should have the .zip file in your email inbox (the mail was sent to the email address mentioned in the package readme).

PaulStanley commented 4 years ago

Many thanks. I will upload it now! I'm sorry I've been so flaky about this. Other parts of life have somewhat run away with me.

Paul
