Serial header location #105

Let's move the serial header down a bit. Currently it interferes with the top panel.

It's in a pretty good spot right now. It just might clear the cortex header. screen shot 2017-01-24 at 13 48 47

I think there isn't much of a choice for location while wires are connected to the header. I'd like to find a location where the header can be installed without wires and no interfere with the enclosure.

Wait a second, those are just pads. I'll see if we can fit a through hold header.

charlespax commented 7 years ago

It looks like through hole would not work in this location. screen shot 2017-01-24 at 13 58 22

Moving a three pin header to the other side wouldn't work either. Maybe just do RX and TX in a row and leave the GND connection out of row. screen shot 2017-01-24 at 14 14 28

We can do a 2x2 right angle 2.54 mm header like this one: screen shot 2017-01-24 at 14 45 31

We can put it on the left side in this location. screen shot 2017-01-24 at 14 46 30

If the header is mounted on the back side of the board, we do not have to worry about any interference issue with the enclosure.

I've added a 2x2 right angle header to the back of the board. The pins should not interfere with the case. screen shot 2017-01-24 at 15 59 48 screen shot 2017-01-24 at 15 59 58
