This will allow the battery to be closer to the PCB. This would shrink the design a bit. Then we could populate the tactile switches instead of using a carbon-pad silicone keypad.

The SD slot would have to be a the bottom, which is fine.

The MicroUSB connector looks like it can bit between the switches. Awesome!

It would be nice to have the thermocouple filtering and the connectors on the same side. This would leave the opposite side completely flat and possibly having only the isothermal pad. This would facilitate https://github.com/PaxInstruments/t400-electronics/issues/33

Watch out with micro usb connectors. Add extra reinforcing at the holder pads (via's). Also make the case design so that it also takes some of the possible mechanical stress.

Tsillen commented 10 years ago

Removing solder resist top and bottom of via (tenting) may be a good idea.

We're using the MicroUSB connector from the Blinky Tape, which had throughole ounts while the pads are SMT. Ref. https://github.com/PaxInstruments/t400-electronics/issues/55

Tenting request: https://github.com/PaxInstruments/t400-electronics/issues/56
