Custom LCD cable #96

The LCD cable uses a 0.5 mm pin pitch. This works fine for automated manufacturing, but it pretty bad for hand soldering. It would be much better to have a 1 mm pin pitch. We should have plenty of space on the board to accomplish this. screen shot 2014-12-21 at 14 45 03

I just got a quote back from the manufacturer and have decided to go with a custom cable. The width of the connector would change and maybe the cable notch too. screen shot 2014-12-22 at 16 13 31

The manufacturer will also see about making the backlight cable section a bit shorter. I don't like the way it flexes there. It could be better. img_20141222_151254

Decision made. I'm closing this and moving things to the implementation at https://github.com/PaxInstruments/t400-electronics/issues/105
