Pictures / thumbnails do not display as expected in Interactive Family Tree #38

First of all, thanks a lot for this wonderful Gramps plugin I've just discovered, the visualization is great !

I'd like to report what I suspect to be a small bug, or at least something that could be easily enhanced : pictures that show are the raw media files, not the cropped thumbnails created through the Gramps media interface (which are stored inside the gramps 'thumb/' directory). I've used the same picture in Gramps in order to create thumbnails for several people that appear in this given pic, It would be very nice to get the thumbnails for each of them in the tree view as well !

Maybe, this issue could be split into two separate problems. I also experience that images are not cropped when being rendered in Topola. :heavy_plus_sign: :one: for this one.

Thanks for the update. I've created issue #94 regarding file extensions.

I'd like to add my +1 to this issue as well. The topola viewer is really good to get a sense of larger family trees and it would be great if the cropped pictures would show up, especially if the source photograph is of a group family picture containing many people.

Ideally, there would be a way to get to the full picture as well e.g. in a lightbox. I submitted a feature request here: #95

I am afraid it won't be as easy as it sounds. The answer from gramps forum for a very similar problem will give you the reasons: https://gramps.discourse.group/t/image-reference-regions-exporting-cropped-images/2277/4

Ah okay, thank you for linking that. So... you're saying there's a chance? (when GEDCOM 7 is implemented) image
