ORNL DAAC Soil Moisture Visualizer #2681

In addition to the great recent work getting support for SMAP into PEcAn via both Google Earth Engine and NASA Appears, I was recently reminded of the nice "Soil Moisture Visualizer" tool at the ORNL DAAC that grabs and visualizes multiple alternative soil moisture data sets

In addition, Rupesh Shrestha at the DAAC pointed me to this python tutorial on how to automate the download of data from the visualization tool.

Passing this on because it would be useful to check out if this tool provides easy access to additional datasets that we're not already grabbing from elsewhere.
