Added to wrong project

PedanticAvenger commented 5 years ago

Adding a total of 3 formats at the start, mostly as it's just a start and I need input form users. 1) Day of week, D/M/Y (i.e. Th, 24/10/2019) 2) Y/M/D - Day of Week (i.e. 2019/10/24 - Th) 3) Day of Week, Mon-D-Y (i.e. Th, Oct-24-2019)

I can add more.

Yes, delta from last value is next after getting versa-lite support in.

Date formatting added to v1.0.0.0 delta will be added in v1.0.1.0 but there are enough changes to 1.0 that I wanted to get it out so people can get their settings updated and ready. I won't change settings until another major version bump (say v2.0). V1.0 will be submitted for review tomorrow morning and expect a couple days review then release.

Can’t seem to get BG to display. Have no issues with the official version. But no luck on the beta version. The date does display properly though.

The beta has a different build-id than prod, did you verify that you re-entered all your config? It would have been erased. Just checking off the "what's going on" boxes.

Yep. I updated the settings. Tried again just now, and just getting the X where the BG readings should be. But my settings work fine In the official version.

I’m using the following : https://ediabetic.herokuapp.com/api/v1/status.json

that should be https://ediabetic.herokuapp.com/api/v1/entries/sgv.json The settings (which is what status.json provides) are now internal to the watch settings.

And thank you for working on this.

Please let me know in a couple days how the delta display is working for you and thoughts on what could change if it isn't.

edrieger commented 5 years ago

I’ll keep checking it.
First impression of the delta is that it’s to small and to far over to the right. Sometimes I can’t make out what the number is. Also sometimes the Delta reading shows something weird. Like an error or something.
I’m attaching photos. Not sure if they will display.

PedanticAvenger commented 5 years ago

No they get stripped from the email. If you go to the webpage and edit your comment you can add pic there. https://github.com/PedanticAvenger/FlashCGM/issues/39

PedanticAvenger commented 5 years ago

font size has been increased for delta. Should see an update available now.

edrieger commented 5 years ago

Much better. The only thing though sometimes the number looks like a symbol next to the triangle. Like right now I see a triangle and a 0. Maybe just have a + or minus and the number. But whatever you decide. I have the info I need. I’ve been going back and forth between your watch face and the glance watch face which seems geared towards looping.

And I’ll say it every time. Thanks for your hard work on this and considering my suggestions.

Had a weird delta reading. Should’ve read 0 but it’s showing NaN. See attached photo.

PedanticAvenger commented 5 years ago

Interesting. That means one of the numbers might be a gap in your data, like a missed poll. Next time you see this can you open your sgv URL on a web browser and paste the results back here? I may have to go back into history farther to find a good value when that happens.

edrieger commented 5 years ago

Here’s another snapshot with the NaN delta reading with my a screen grab of my nightscout

Thanks, I specifically need the output of https:///api/v1/entries/sgv.json so I can see the exact values being returned. I'm not sure if I have a math error or a read a value error. I've seen it once on my watch but was unable to capture the data and it seems you might be seeing it more frequently.

Ok. changed it in a while and have been running with it since I published it.

I need some details from you. 1) What is your CGM data source? i.e. the URL you configure in your watchface and the specific software it is connecting to. 2) Copy of the full html output you get when you connect to that URL via the web browser on your phone.

The Delta information is provided by the CGM source and I just display it, there are no internal calculations being done to provide it and it's possible that your cgm data source isn't giving that information back, or is doing it in a different format than the code is expecting.

Ok, I have one last thing I think it is. You are running version 11.1 of nightscout I suspect you may need to update it to the 12.x train to get the delta field

Thank you. I’ll update tomorrow and report back.

I’ve updated my nightscout to the latest. And still not getting deltas. Just seeing UNDEF

Here’s the latest output after upgrading.

Wow, so I have it on nightscout and you don't. That means it's a config setting, let me dig into what it might be.

PedanticAvenger commented 4 years ago

Ok, you aren't using xDrip+ or Spike are you but rather the dexcom app and share to get data into NS? That could be the source of the difference, the community apps provide that data in the feed. I'll have to put something together to handle this usage scenario it seems.

edrieger commented 4 years ago

Yes. I’m using the DEXCOM app/share to feed nightscout the data.

Ok, I need to check to see if the glucose source provides delta and if not calculate it. None of my sources are ones which do not provide delta so please let me know if this improves things for you. Should see it as an update now.

edrieger commented 4 years ago

I’ve been having problems just getting any readings at all the last few days(since the DEXCOM share server was down). I Just have the big X where the reading should be.

I installed it 20 minutes ago and still haven’t gotten a reading. I’ll let it sit over night and see if I get a reading.

Fitbit is synching fine. So not sure what the issue is. My settings is : https://ediabetic.herokuapp.com/api/v1/entries/sgv.json

I used the glance face all of today and didn’t have any issues getting readings. Readings popped up almost immediately after upon entering my settings. I would much rather use your face as it focuses on other things w non diabetes related

With that said the glance face does display the current reading , trend arrow and delta number very well.

I'm having issues getting stable readings as well so I will have to assume I broke something adding the new delta code back in. It works on the simulator fine but that doesn't always translate to hardware very well.

edrieger commented 4 years ago

I haven’t gotten Any readings since saturday when then Dexcom share service went down on either your official version and the beta version. And nothing after updating to your latest beta last night.

Had to switch back to glance as I’m out and about today.

Ok, I had a spare versa pointing to your site all day and it seemed to be stable. But I'm android so that could be a difference too.

I’ll give it a shot. Wouldn’t think it would matter if it was android or iOS. Still pointing to same link.

Ok. I’m getting readings now. I think my issue may have been I was not selecting the type of glucose units. However still no delta readings. Just a triangle and two X’s.

edrieger commented 4 years ago

I woke up this morning and where the delta reading should be it says “stale”. But I’ve been getting accurate readings every five minutes.

PedanticAvenger commented 4 years ago

That means the previous reading was either backfilled later or was missed. It should update next reading.

Yes I understand what stale is, however it’s been “stale “ basically the entire tome. I’ve never gotten a delta reading. It’s either triangle and 2X’s or “stale”.

That is really really odd. There has to be something triggering an edge case here. I"ll point to your data again and see if I can reproduce it at all.

Sounds good. I’ve been getting stable readings Every 5 minutes, ever since I set the unit type. But continually just get “stale” where the delta is. maybe you can reverse engineer the cgm reading from the glance clock face.

PedanticAvenger commented 4 years ago

Heh, Ryan and I do chat, and I've looked at his code. He gets data the same as I do and the issue seems to be tied to how it's being stuffed into nightscout. Ok, hallelujah, I have finally gotten the simulator to reproduce the issue you are seeing, now I can actually dive into the code and step through it. Thanks for your patience so far.

No problem, always happy to help. if I’m having the issue, I’m sure some other people would be experiencing the same issue.

PedanticAvenger commented 4 years ago

Ok, I learned something. The dexcom share service doesn't always push values to nightscout in a timely manner. Meaning sometimes there is an update every 5 minutes and sometimes it can be 8 minutes before the value gets pushed in. When these delays occur the timing believes a poll has been missed and updates things appropriately. I've made some changes which will help that I will push up shortly, but the deeper challenge of the timing variance I need to consider. What happens now is that when data isn't there in 5 mines the watch updates as "stale" then pokes the watch companion app for updates until the appropriate update comes in (i.e. the time of the last update occurring within the last 5 minutes.. I trust the data timestamp down to the millisecond as it's sync'd with the phone and thus your watch to determine if you are missing readings. Glance appears to consider when it last got data which is more flexible but not as precise. I wonder if the newer value is available if one polls the dexcom share service directly. I may have to incorporate that capability into the FlashCGM face to make this problem go away.
