@rspuzio is planning to join us on Nov 16, hopefully we can decide a mutually agreeable timeline for accelerator activities related to PlanetMath then.

What's next for Planet Math?

holtzermann17 commented 8 years ago

We'll have a PlanetMath board meeting on December 12th, early afternoon East Coast time. I'll make sure to invite them to future Peeragogy hangouts. In the mean time, what else is going on is...

There are surely some other funding opportunities (e.g. Simons Foundation) but locating them and putting together a decent application that conforms to their expectations is hard work, may be impossible until the PI's are more established academics, and I am, unfortunately, a bit burnt out vis à vis midnight oil... Cᴀʀʀʏɪɴɢ Cᴀᴘᴀᴄɪᴛʏ:

Symptoms of burnout are a sign that it’s time to revisit the group’s Roadmap and your own individual plan. Are these realistic?

So that's some of what we'll talk about in the meeting. I did put together a somewhat "PlanetMath-related" proposal for an Alan Turing Fellowship (3 pages, due December 20th). @danoff read an early draft of that and gave some useful feedback. This might be the best route towards becoming "established" and then we could return to grant applications another time. (Just a thought.)

The other route might be to try to pursue incorporation, funding, etc., within the Peeragogy project and then fold PlanetMath into that at some future date. But again, these are long-term strategies.
