Release version 2.0.0 #69

Once this has been merged, we should branch off version_2.x, tag up VERSION_2.0.0, and continue development towards version 3 on master.

Do we want any additional information in the release commit? I was going to include a shortlog, but then I figured you might just do the diff yourself (or view it in gitlab even).
