Just an FYI. It is possible to write descriptions in commit messages of reverts, just like any other commit, explaining why the revert is done. They do not have to contain only what Git puts there. E.g. https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=a3ac7917b73070010c05b4485b8582a6c9cd69b6 .
Are you saying you would like more information in the commit message, @martin-ejdestig?
