Easy Comms OFF not recognized #30

Easy communications is OFF in DCS settings. It is OFF in mission settings. VAICOM PTT window still says "Easy Communications ON."

I have master zeroized the entire program, uninstalled VAICOM, deleted all related folders in VoiceAttack, Saved Games, and ensured the export.lua is clean. I made a 100% fresh install via the community 2.8 version .msi installer from Github, no avail.

I have seen this on a few people's installs but cannot reproduce.

I can confirm this as an issue in 2.8. I followed the same steps. In fact I completely removed VIACOM Pro and Voice Attack as soon as it was broken in 2.8. I was already starting to use the Jester wheel again! I attached some screen shots of the configuration in VIACOM PRO with DCS 2.8 running and sitting in a hot started Tomcat.

The screenshots shown are functioning as attended. This bug is referencing the "Easy Communication: ON" Line at the bottom of their PTT screen. I have attempted to break mine and also can not reproduce this issue.

I had/have this issue as well. And I believe it has started after I used a SP mission with enforced "easy comms on"(due to mi-24 was not yet supported) after I used VAICOM with this mission, it got stuck at "easy comms on" always. Before that I used vaicom for years with no issues.

Later I found a workaround - If I start VAICOM, start a mission which has "easy comms on" then quit that mission and start a mission with easy comms off, then VAICOM correctly detects easy comms off.

This didn't fix after I changed my PC, altho I have copied back up of DCS and saved games, I have done full DCS repair, delete VAICOM from all related folders I could find and new VA and VAICOM install from github.

How many modules do you all have installed?

Also try deselecting instant select and see if that changes anything when loading.

It depends how we count and what qualify as modules, but all flyable + maps = 40, but if we count mods and other stuff like the GPS add-on, it is way more. I see it might match the 38 modules bug, will try to test it tomorrow and report further.

Just checked my modules. If we're only counting official aircraft, terrains, and tech (supercarrier, WW2 assets) I have 41.

I can confirm that after uninstalling a few modules, so far "easy comms off" seems to be working correctly

Bug was fixed in previous release.
