Fandom sucks, but running a wiki can get expensive. For example: English Wikipedia alone hosts 134.8 GB of images(both bitmaps and SVGs). There's a reason why it takes most large wikis so long to move away from using Fandom, it's because when you're hosting something like a wiki, it gets very expensive very quickly. Why do you think Fandom is stuffed full of ads, and Wikipedia is consistently asking for donations: it's because it costs a lot to host something that's free, and that provides so much information.

..., or we can just use the github wiki feature, or put each wiki page on github

JeremyGamer13 commented 10 months ago

i already messaged the creator of the original wiki & they said eventually they will be able to move it keyword eventually because theres no real reason to urgently move

JoshAtticus commented 10 months ago

I recommend Miraheze, it's free and used by Meower, works pretty well, or ask @tnix100 to host a wiki maybe.

So like a community-wiki repository? Would it be on this org or have it's own? It would be possible, by the way. You'd need a wiki static site generator, but it could be done through GH Pages.

Using Docasaurus 3 would probably work really well, and it would do better in the long run

nmsderp commented 8 months ago

Plus, you could do wiki.penguinmod.com

nmsderp commented 8 months ago

Vercel also has a template for Docasaurus 2

RedMan13 commented 8 months ago

we already have a docs page in the works rn...

nmsderp commented 8 months ago

Oh, I forgot about that, it is really good that you are doing that tho

Breeze wiki is Fandom but you cannot edit.

Steve0Greatness commented 4 months ago

Seems like some people in the Discord have forked the wiki to Mihaheze; Maybe keep an eye on that. It still seems to have some broken templates.

Maybe keep an eye on it, might be cool.

Steve0Greatness commented 4 months ago

This should be marked as completed. The wiki linked is now the Miraheze wiki.
