Although it can be tricky because some hosts would have different rules for prize eligibility, such as

There is a host that forbid players from winning more than 1 door prize in a month
Do players that joined late in the event but don't drop still eligible for the prize or not?

And also how would the system shows it in the event report? Another type of medal?

I don't mind falling in line with however this is implemented if we do it.

I'd love it to be available to /admin/prizes to make the prize email even easier to send :D

I was giving a little thought on this, and I would propose a first step of adding the door prize to gatherling's data model, so it can be scraped by PDM and automatically added to the prizes page. IIUC, we could add a column in the standings table, and add a checkbox in the standings page so that the TO can flag 1 player.
