Dredging rather than drawing can let you avoid discarding in a specific case #249

What is the expected behaviour of the card? Draw three, then discard either a land or two cards, regardless of replacement effects applied to the cards being drawn.

What is the actual behaviour of the card? The bug will only occur if, after drawing and/or dredging 3 cards, the player ends up with at least one land card in their hand. The "discard land or two cards" prompt is still shown, but choosing one of the options causes the game to continue without prompting for a card to be discarded.

If the player has no land in their hand after drawing and/or dredging 3 cards, the system will correctly asks them to choose two cards and discards them

Reddit suggests that Sindbad might also be affected. Can someone test?

yeah i went ahead and tested some more w/o dredge cards they work fine and say either "discard a card" (if you drew a nonland, and only the nonland is choosable) or "no cards to choose in NAME's hand" (if you drew a land) but if you have a dredge creature in your graveyard after the "choose a replacement effect" message pops up and you click cancel it just lets you draw whereas if you use the dredge it says "no cards to choose in NAME's hand" and happens with both fa'adiyah and sindbad

Found specific case where the bug will occur, which is if you have land card in your hand. If you don't have land card in hand, the system will automatically ask you to select 2 cards to be discarded, and they will successfully be discarded.
