Recipe for Propane from some kind of Compost/FarmingProduct manipulation. Farming needs to be very rewarding.
As a byproduct, all decomposition of organic material emits methane. You can produce propane from methane with a diamond anvil with the process discovered in 2009 by heating the oven to 1K Kelvins (1340.33 Degrees Fahrenheit, 726.85 Degrees Celsius)
Could this be achievable through the Zomboid player? Yes, but it requires a way to create an air tight or similar environment. See: Biodigestion

Not farming
Within the limits of what we already have:
Biofuel - 100 units of stale (not fresh, not rotten) vegetables, 4 pots of tainted water, 1 bottle of oil (veggie, olive, cooking, etc.), campfire/fireplace/antique stove, 1 empty gas can.
Biogas - 100 units of stale (not fresh, not rotten) vegetables, 4 pots of tainted water, 1 bottle of oil (veggie, olive, cooking, etc.), campfire/fireplace/antique stove, 1 empty propane tank.
Cook time = something reasonable, but requires you to actually feed the fire (e.g. don't just use the electric stove and set and forget it).
This is just operating within the confines of what you can already get in vanilla PZ without making new items or convoluted recipes (let's not make things complicated for complexity sake). Requiring stale vegetables (not sure if this is possible?) would be interesting in that you have to manage the crops and there is a window where you can actually make the fuel, so it's not just braindead farm crops -> make fuel. Also requiring a legit fire source so that you have to feed the flame would make it more engaging. You need a source of wood to fuel your... fuel. Not too punishing for city dwellers since they can just disassemble furniture but after a while they'll pick their locations clean and will need to find more sources of wood.
I think we should ship this with the v1.0.

It's not a bad thought at all. I will try making a recipe that rewards people that manage their crops well but i also want a more inefficient compost recipe as to not completely punish them if they can't log in for a couple of days. I really want people to have reasons to farm a lot, whether its for their own needs or for business. Alzii might have an objection as using not composted farming products is probably not as realistic as she wants so i'll wait till she can have a say whether she vetos this or not.

ok, relax. As realistic as playable is the motto. After v1.0 we can make a diamond anvil item/recipe and somehow try to emulate this process.

it was to say the method with the diamond Anvil wasn't really around during the 90s, since you guys have been rejecting stuff that wasn't based in the 90s. I provided an alternate solution.
Hale would like Gas and Propane recipes, this is open for discussion as there is nothing set

We are going to create ways for players to be able to make cost-efficiently gas and propane! Yey.
Many things are broken in the server, especially the economy and one sizeable part of that is FUEL. It is plentiful and combined with fuel consumption being really low... big no-no. To a less extent PROPANE as well is really cheap to buy through the vending machines. For us to change either of those there need to be alternatives for the players to go by without thinking we are leraing them ass up face down into the dirt. Rewarding but not punishing gameplay.
Things i've thought up so far
The more balanced recipes the better. Post your ideas below.
