Hello

I need to upgrade my perl version from 5.8.0 to 5.8.8. I downloaded the latest package from http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Languages/perl-5.8.8/

My system is a HP-UX 11.11 PA Risc (HP-UX uescrm1d B.11.11 U 9000/800).

I tried to install the downloaded depot but have to following error.

Can someone help?

This is not a perl or perl-related error\, and the message is quite clear to me. If you choose to install a package from the HP Porting center\, you need to resolve the dependencies yourself first. It is not like in the Linux world that there is some kind of package manager that will resolve these depends for you automatically

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Gnu/gdbm-1.8.3/ http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Development/Tools/db-4.6.21/

and maybe even more for you to install to meet the prerequisites

Can someone help?

Alternatively\, you could choose one of my depots 1). They do not depend on any other package at all. The choice is yours and mainly depends on where and how you want to use perl: 32bit or 64bit\, threaded or not\, add XS modules later etc etc
