Gala's ASJP dataset #40

Data

For this dataset, a new netCDF data file is generated daily. Here is one example file: ASJP_2020092.nc4.zip. In terms of us receiving the data, there's a lag of a few days usually before we have everything.

Note, to visualize this data, we will need to add processing for netCDF files to the workflow, see: https://github.com/PermafrostDiscoveryGateway/viz-workflow/issues/26. The layer is a coarse grid.

Metadata/archiving

We plan to create a data package per year for this dataset and update it daily. (This will need to be automated.) We can create a DOI for the package as a whole (which will point to the series ID), and a new DOI daily that points to each specific version.

Gala is only budgeted to work on the PDG until the end of 2024.
