Ongoing work led by Elias Manos. He has a draft version across Alaska. He plans to map pan-Arctic under the Google.org project Maxar-derived 0.5 m resolution infrastructure layer

@julietcohen The dataset has been added to Arctic Data Center but is currently private. There are 2 shapefiles:

(1) Polygon footprints of buildings and storage tanks (252,624 features in total, 34.35 MB). There is an attribute field that contains a numeric value which indicates whether the polygon is a building or tank footprint. (2) Polylines that represent road centerlines (17.62 MB). There is an attribute field that contains the length of a given polyline segment in meters.

These data layers extend across the entire state of Alaska, but features only exist within the the boundaries of communities. This dataset will be a supplement to a paper that I am going to submit to a journal by next week, so I'd like to line up its release on the PDG along with the publication of the paper (assuming it gets accepted). I will keep you all posted on the progress of the paper submission.
