Should be able to port forward and then connect to it from a device on the same network.
Use a VM or Docker?

Why bother with a vm or docker? Have you tried connecting from another device on the same network or setting up a hotspot on the pi?

I don't have a PI, and I can't port forward on school WiFi.

Have you tried setting up a hot spot on your phone and connecting to it from any other device?

I did try that, but it didn't work
