Just saw this project. I don't believe so much in the government and I think it's systemically to slow and slows down progress. ...but this project sounds like a neat idea.

Who is using it already? Do business use it to find people based on their qualifications? Is that the goal of this project? What's the strategy to spread the usage?

The PDL is currently in use with various pilot and evaluation projects. This is at present a first and experimental application that will develop further in future. At present a few German national authorities show huge interest in this and the idea and concept won already a few prestigious awards. the long term goal is to enhance the digital process of lifelong learning and as you guessed right - assist the process of qualification based hiring.

Can I use this in my e-learning app? People go through lessons. How would i use it?

I-Invent commented 8 years ago

PDL is a Experience API (xAPI) application and your e-learning app needs to use xAPI. To learn more about the Experience API and the context the PDL could be used in please visit https://personal-data-locker.org/en/ You will find additional xAPI links and references.

What e-learning app are you using? If you are interested please add us "unite.education" to your skype contacts. We could discuss your options to utilise the PDL and also the use of one of our PDL Demos setups.

It's called http://app.esova.rs It's custom. I'm not sure what i would get from "PDL" or what exactly i would do with it...

is there some short tutorial how to get started? Like a "hello world" example? :-)

I-Invent commented 8 years ago

I am not sure what your learning app does. Unfortunately there is no simple "Hello Eorld" way example or setup.

Again I suggest that you seek contact via Skype and we put you in touch with one of our xAPI developers.

Are xAPI developers on github? It's easier to do that asynchronous. The "app" leads through a curriculum of hundreds of educational videos to teach programming and has interactive tests in between.

First you should visit this page - https://www.adlnet.gov/adl-research/performance-tracking-analysis/experience-api/

Then visit them on GitHub - https://github.com/adlnet/xAPI-Spec/blob/master/xAPI.md

I assume that there are hundereds of xAPI developers on GitHub, connect with them through the link above or run a few searches.
