Use convpng color palette?

How does one use a convpng generated color pallete? I used default settings

#GroupICE            : ice_gfx
#PNGImages           :
 mario

then tried det(4,"0000D8C435A0F264",8,0) and while I didnt get an error, the color didnt change at all

Take a look at #139, something has been fixed by now.
