[REQUEST]: Bluetooth connection for RFID reader and scale #978

Open josuechinchilla opened 5 months ago

Description

Hi all, my name is Josue Chinchilla-Vargas. I am the animal breeding coordinator at Breeding Insight. One of the trout breeders we collaborate with is looking to use fieldbook to collect data. For this he is interested in connecting his bluetooth equipment directly to bluetooth. I spoke to Keo Corak from OnRamp and me mentioned you might be looking for good case studies. My email address is jc3635@cornell.edu

Alternatives

Alternatively we can try to connect the instruments via cable to bluetooth

@josuechinchilla Can you post some of the RFID/scale device models that are being used by the trout breeders?

Hi Trevor,

Thanks for the quick reply. This are the models and instruments the trout breeder is working with:

  1. BioMark HPR tag reader that bluetooths to a tablet: https://www.biomark.com/product/hpr-plus-handheld-pit-tag-reader/

  2. Scale- Doran Model 7000xlm that bluetooths to tablet: https://www.scalesgalore.com/product/Doran-7000XLM-Indicator-px62201.cfm

  3. Finboard Big Fin EMB.50 that bluetooths to the tablet: This was purchased through big fin but I don’t think they make this model anymore. https://bigfinscientific.square.site/

  4. The program everything is running through is DLSLinkStream: https://bigfinscientific.com/dcs-application/

  5. Then we also have some tag manager software that we use linked to the HPR.

Please let me know if we need more information. I don't think the breeder uses Github but I can loop him in via email.

Thanks, Josue
