Suspected cause is the bone masks
Animations were correct in alpha.4 - something has changed whilst implementing more animation features that broke them!!
Note to self... check the value of the animations channels at each step in the import process to find the divergence...
Issue was due to the bone roll not being set correctly by the "neater" way of inverting the bind pose matrices when loading the data into Blender. Fixed with 26940a81988103e86edd120efe9d16cbcea1675a.
