User preferences for home screen etc #3

Users should be allowed to decide their home page. It can either be a specific feed, a random feed, etc. They should also be able to choose their filter/sorting options. Either New/best/hot & today/last week/last month.

Only allowing users to select their sorting options. 23ddb908e83f7208de3f6ad13bc372546d6323ef sorts this out. Will close.

User's cannot update their preference option from the manage screen - has trouble saving changes to DB.

21428345b70d5aff72f509b085600977ae998899 sorts out updating user preferences, however looking at showing which is selected when a user first goes to the manage page.
