It's not currently possible to sync calibre with Marvin wirelessly, only through USB.
However, you can download books from a calibre content server to Marvin. See this tutorial at Marvin's website for more information.
Thanks; I bought Marvin because when you set up Calibre it says you can sync wirelessly with Stanza (no longer in business) or Marvin. Maybe they were just referring to the books to download. I thought it would be nice to get the Fetch News items to automatically sync wirelessly ever day. Maybe some day. Thanks, again.
I checked the calibre source code to find the statement you referenced: Here's what it says:
If you use the Stanza or Marvin e-book reading app on your Apple iDevice, you can access your calibre book collection wirelessly, directly on the device. To do this you have to turn on the calibre content server.
If you're willing to leave a machine running calibre 24/7, you could schedule the news download, then manually use Marvin's OPDS browser to download the latest issue.
Thanks, that's what I am doing and it is working great.
Thanks, again, for your help.
I have a new MacBook Pro, with up-to-date versions of Calibre and Marvin. I can get Marvin to sync through the USB cable, but not wirelessly. In Calibre, when I go to Preferences, and then click on Sharing over the Net, the button for Start Server is greyed out. Could you please tell me what I can do?
(It connects to Dropbox easily as well.)
