KeePass2 Offline attempting to open MS Office file attachments in Signal as a database #1424

When attached file is tapped to open / use instead of Office opening, KeePass2 is grabbing the file and attempting to open as a database. Within Android settings of KeePass2 default file types is empty.

can you install the "non-offline" version (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=keepass2android.keepass2android&hl=en) (you don't need to enter a password there if you don't trust it) to see if that is also suggested for opening? If not, the next update of the offline version will fix this.

Good morning,

I removed the offline version and installed the version per link of your email. The result is the same when tapping the icon for a MS Office document in a chat session of Signal, the file open action causes KeePass to attempt opening as a database.

It occurred to me to also specify that this is a group chat which may be contributing to the issue. I also sent a message to the folks at signal but have not heard back from them as of yet.

For all we know it is caused by how Signal processes a filetype that it has no default handler built in for action and borks handing off to the Android OS for the filetype to be processed outside of Signal.
