Ability to use Smart cards such as yubikey to unlock database

This ability is available in the keepass branch "keepassXC" on desktop, and being able to use my smart card as a NFC token or USB C dongle to unlock my database would be ideal

Once you've set up a database using KeepassXC with a challenge-response secret, sync it to your phone and select like shown here:
