[X] I have read the FAQ section, searched the open issues, and still think this is a new bug.
Describe the bug you encountered:
If one fills out a new password entry and the phone screen locks due to inactivity, the entry appears to be totally lost.
I have "Lock when screen off" enabled, which is behavior I do want if I shut the screen off, but losing data seems very bad to me, hence filing this.
In the real world typically the way this occurs is while I'm finishing filling out the registration form for some new service I'm signing up for, and in the process of doing so the phone screen locks -- so what has happened a few times is I sign up for something and then am immediately locked out as the password I just generated and entered is immediately lost.
(n.b.: I've read the FAQ and attempted to search the issue tracker and not found this issue, though I'd be shocked if it wasn't reported elsewhere, so I must be missing it. Apologies if so. I've certainly been meaning to file this for a long while as it's without question the only major issue I have with the app in years of loving it!)
Describe what you expected to happen:
One of two things:
either the database should not lock when an entry is in progress
or the entry should get autosaved if it is a new entry and the database is locking itself, so at least the data isn't lost. This would work for my use case above, but seems like it requires more thought in case the user is in the middle of modifying an entry (which again can happen if e.g. I generate a new password for a site which has expired one, and am mid-updating it).
To elaborate also on an obvious workaround which generally doesn't work for me: I personally do not generally save until the account is created, for 2 reasons:
Sites with silly password rules occasionally require 3 or 4 different password generations, and saving an entry kicks you out of the entry and sends me back to the Keypass2Android home screen, which slows down the process
I have a ~15MB keypass database that is very slow to save (on the order of 30 seconds or more), which is a separate (I believe known) issue because it contains 2 images. At some point I'll fix this but I simply haven't set aside time because it hasn't annoyed me enough
