Put the Search Menu on the left hand side of the Welcome screen when you log in. I can never remember what the 3 horizontal lines mean. It would be one less step for the user.
The other information found in the menu on the left side of the legacy PhiloBiblon could be added in a menu at the bottom of the page, which seems to be fairly standard these days.:
